Copenhagen, Denmark – 17.09.2026 – RetinaLyze, a provider of AI-powered retinal screening and eye-health workflow solutions, today announces a new strategic cooperation with EYS, a Norwegian provider of digital ophthalmic workflows and telemedicine services. Under the cooperation, EYS will sell RetinaLyze together with its telemedicine solution, creating a more connected offering for optometrists.
The cooperation combines RetinaLyze’s AI-supported retinal screening with EYS’ telemedicine pathway, helping optometrists move efficiently from screening and identification of potential pathology to specialist assessment when further evaluation is needed.
A connected pathway from screening to specialist assessment
For optometrists, identifying a suspicious finding is only part of the job. The next challenge is deciding what should happen afterwards. By bringing RetinaLyze and EYS together, practices can combine AI-supported screening with access to ophthalmological expertise in a more coherent patient pathway.
Key benefits include:
- AI-supported retinal screening to help identify cases that may require additional attention
- A direct telemedicine pathway when specialist assessment is needed
- One combined eye-health offering with less complexity across separate vendors and systems
- A clearer patient journey from screening through escalation and follow-up
- Scalable workflows for chains while remaining accessible for independent practices
- More efficient use of specialist expertise by directing relevant cases to ophthalmological review

“For an optometrist, the real value is not simply having another AI tool. The value comes when technology helps you make a better decision and gives you a clear next step when something requires further assessment,” says Teddy Birch Petersen, CEO of RetinaLyze. “Together with EYS, we can offer a much more complete eye-health workflow: screen the patient, identify potential pathology and, when necessary, bring an ophthalmologist into the patient journey. That makes advanced eye care easier to deliver as part of everyday optometric practice.”
Sondre Enger Beckröge, CEO of EYS, adds:
“Optometrists are in a strong position to play a greater role in eye health. Together, RetinaLyze and EYS give them screening support and a clear route to specialist expertise, while keeping the workflow simple for both practice and patient.”
Better workflows for optometrists and patients
The cooperation is designed to reduce the friction that can arise when screening, referrals and specialist consultations are handled through separate solutions. With RetinaLyze and EYS available together, optometrists can offer a broader eye-health service without having to build their own specialist network or manage multiple disconnected pathways.
For optical chains, the combined offering can support more standardized eye-health workflows across locations. For independent practices, it provides a practical route to adding AI-supported screening and telemedicine while keeping the clinical process manageable. In both cases, the optometrist remains an important part of the patient journey, with access to specialist input when needed.

RetinaLyze and EYS will work together on the commercial and technical rollout of the combined solution, with the shared goal of making advanced eye-health services easier to access through optometric practice.
